Detectives investigating the disappearance of Lancing man Mark Manning have charged a man with murder.
Colin Gale, 39, of Offington Lane, Worthing, was charged with the murder of Mark Manning on Thursday (January 28).
He is due to appear at Lewes Crown Court this morning for a preliminary hearing.
A 50-year-old man from Portslade and a 43-year-old Worthing man who had also been arrested on suspicion of murder have been released without charge.
Mark, 54, of Brighton Road, was last seen on April 19, 2014 before his family reported him missing on April 22.
They said it was completely out of character for him to disappear.
Officers launched a murder investigation in June 2014.
Despite extensive proof of life enquiries and searches, no one has reported hearing from or seeing Mark. His body has not been found.
Detective Chief Inspector Mike Ashcroft, from the Surrey and Sussex Major Crime Team said: “We would still like to hear from anyone who has any information about the circumstances of Mark’s disappearance or his location.”
