A WOMAN who found her stolen bike locked up outside a train station used her spare key to unlock it before riding it straight to the police.

Carol Hunter, from West Worthing, reported the theft from her shed to the police and was told to check around the bike racks in Worthing town centre.

Shortly afterwards Carol discovered her bicycle outside Worthing railway station, secured with her own lock, and used her spare key to unlock and reclaim it.

She said: “I was really thrilled because I didn’t want to buy a new one.

“It saved me money and I’m quite fond of it.

“Three days without a bike seemed like a long time and I was very relieved to get mine back.”
