A car, this afternoon, collided with the corner of a pizza shop in Worthing.

A passer-by described the scene as ‘absolute carnage’ with ‘pub tables all over the place’.

David Mattinson, 73, of Rectory Gardens in Worthing, said he was having a drink outside when the car appeared.

He said: “I was just sitting there at the table and it just came through. There was two tables that were demolished with two girls sitting there five minutes before.

“I just feel a little bit shocked. It all happened so quickly.”
