A GROUP of mums and dads want to restore their local park back to its former glory.

They have set up the Homefield Park Action Group because they say they feel the park in Homefield Road, Worthing, is in “desperate need” of attention.

Group secretary Sarah Cutler said: “The park is a bit rundown at the moment. The equipment in the play area has seen better days. A lot has been taken away over the years, and only some of it replaced.

We’ve only just got the swings back after six months, and there are areas of flooring that are completely knackered.

“We’d like to make it like Victoria Park – with better equipment and a nicer environment for everybody to enjoy.”

The group was formed in November, and would also like to see improvements made to the skate park, more seating, refurbished toilets and the installation of a picnic area.

The group is holding an open meeting at the Sidney Walter Centre in Sussex Road, Worthing, on Saturday, July 14, at 2pm. All are welcome.
