A TRAFFIC accident in Lancing this morning was caused by standing water after today’s downpour.
According to police, the collision involving a silver Mercedes occurred when the car aquaplaned into the central reservation.
Police were called at 8.35am to the accident which happened on the eastbound carriageway of the A27 between Worthing and Brighton.
No one was injured but police are warning drivers to take extra care today as the morning’s rain has left many sections of road underwater.
The road was closed causing tailbacks, but was reopened at just after 9am.
