Adur and Worthing Council has warned charitable people to avoid using the fake pink clothing bins at Tesco in Durrington.

Three pink clothing chutes on the Tesco site are believed to not be linked with Breast Cancer Awareness despite appearances.

A spokesman for the council said: “These three pink bins at Tesco in Durrington are not charity bins and are in fact run by a commercial organisation with no ties to any charity.

“If you use these for textile donations you will not benefit any breast cancer charity or organisation and will merely divert your donations from the legitimate charities that do have banks at Tesco.”
