Witnesses sought to Worthing assault

Police are appealing for witnesses to an assault on a 30-year-old woman who was attacked in Steyne Gardens on Monday (14 July).

The victim was socialising with friends when she was assaulted by a man known to her at 3.55pm.

The victim was seen arguing with the man just before the assault.

She sustained a cut to her lip that did not require medical attention.

A 30-year-old man from Worthing was arrested on suspicion of assault.

He was questioned and released on bail until Sunday 10 August.
