Woman robbed in Worthing park

A woman was robbed in a Worthing park at the weekend.

At about 10am on Saturday (September 15), the local woman, who is in her 20s, was walking her dog in Longcroft Park, on the north side of the A2032 Littlehampton Road.

She was approached by two males who pushed and punched her and snatched her satchel bag, which contained personal items including a mobile phone.

They ran off via a cut through on the north east corner of the park, which leads out to Hildon Park.

The victim was badly shaken but was not hurt.

The suspects are both described as white and teenagers. One had light fair hair which was cut short slightly longer on the top than the sides, and was about 5ft 1in tall. He was of very thin build and was only wearing knee length off white shorts made out of the same material as jogging bottoms. He was not wearing a top.

The second suspect looked a little older than the first one, and was taller, about 5ft 6in to 5ft 8in tall, a bit spotty, with short fair hair and also of very slim build. He was wearing a dark grey top and light jogging bottoms.

Detective Constable Tony Taylor said; “If anyone was in the area that morning and saw what happened, or saw this pair running away, please call us via 101 quoting serial 0625 of 15/9. You can also call independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
