Woman sexually assaulted in Worthing

A WOMAN was approached by a man and sexually assaulted in Worthing in the early hours of Sunday (September 9).

The 31-year-old victim was walking alone in South Farm Road between 2.15am and 3am when a man started to follow her.

He then grabbed her and sexually assaulted her by touching, before she screamed and ran off northwards.

The suspect ran off south down South Farm Road. The victim was shaken and upset but not physically hurt.

The man is described as white, 5ft 7in tall, of medium build with either stubble or a goatee beard. He has blonde hair worn in a curtain style and was wearing a light-coloured chequered short=sleeved shirt and light coloured jeans. He appeared to have a beer belly.

PC Paul Connor said: “We are appealing for any witnesses to come forward or would like to hear from anyone who recognises the description of the suspect.”

Anyone with information can call Sussex Police on 101 quoting serial 0281 of 9/9.
