TWO teams of women took on 24 hours of darts to raise more than £900 for Cancer Research UK.

The ambitious challenge was taken on by the Marquis Darts Team from Sompting and the Stage Ladies Darts Team from Worthing to support a charity close to their hearts. Lorraine Taylor a member of the Stage Ladies Darts Team, and the owner of The Stage pub in High Street, Worthing where the event took place.

She said: “Everyone knows someone who has been lost to it. Last year we nearly raised £700 for Cancer Research and this year we thought we would get together and do something greater.”

Deborah Parsons, from the Marquis Darts Team, said: “Ten years a go I had cervical cancer and my step mother has breast cancer and is going through chemo and without Cancer Research we wouldn’t be here.”

The women are still accepting donations. Visit Just Giving or text GSCH84 and your amount to 70070.
