Worthing betting theft suspect to appear on Crimewatch

POLICE seeking a man wanted on suspicion of grabbing £2,000 from behind the till of a betting shop are putting his photo on Crimewatch.

The suspect, described as white, in his 30s, and bald with short dark hair at the sides, took the money from Ladbrokes, in South Street, Worthing, at around 1.30pm on Tuesday, May 10.

He snatched the cash as it was being counted by a member of staff and ran from the shop towards the seafront.

He was around 5ft 6in to 5ft 8in and wore a blue vertical striped shirt and dark trousers.

Detective Sergeant Jason Turner said: “Even after this time, we are optimistic that someone will recognise him and will be able to tell us where he might be. If you think you may know who he is, please contact police immediately.”
