The Worthing Children’s Parade is back – but this time it’s bigger and better than ever with 17 different schools taking part.

This year’s theme is based upon James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl.

The parade will start at Denton gardens at 10am tomorrow.

The carnival parade will then make its way along the seafront and back along Montague Street, finishing in Steyne Gardens at 11am where MP Tim Loughton and the Mayor of Worthing will welcome in the children and their sculptures.

Organiser Caroline Woodward said: “Each of the 17 schools decided upon a different character from the story for their’ big make’. The parade will be a vibrant and exciting tribute to the story and elements of the book will be retold through the children’s sculptures.

“We have been lucky to have been awarded two community grants this year to help develop the parade and extend its reach to children in our community. I would like to thank Worthing Community Chest and also the Community Initiative Fund for helping us this year.”
