Worthing driver who used false documents to evade capture is jailed for 10 months

Giles Dubourg, 44, a sales representative, from Chippers Road, Worthing, appeared at Chichester Crown Court after pleading guilty to all counts.

While already disqualified from driving he produced a fraudulent French driving licence in another name.

Further enquiries revealed he had produced the same fraudulent driving licence on a previous occasion to avoid prosecution for driving whilst disqualified.

Dubourg was further disqualified from driving for two years for perverting the course of justice and two counts of possessing identity documents with intent to deceive.

PC Peter Blake said: “Dubourg was a disqualified driver who had gone to great lengths to evade capture.

“The sentence should act as a warning to those persons who possess fraudulent documents and attempt to produce them in order to prevent detection for offences.”
