ANYONE over 60 can join in a new tea and chat group organised by Guild Care.
The new social group is designed for anyone who is either isolated, lonely or would like the opportunity to make some new friends, in a safe friendly environment.
Initially a group will be set up starting in November, in partnership with Worthing Homes at East Worthing Community House, but it is also planned to set up several groups in other parts of Worthing.
The groups, called Tea and Chat, will meet in an easy to access venue like a café or pub.
Similar groups which were set up by Worthing Neighbourhood Care Alliance and Guild Care two years ago are still meeting socially to enjoy trips out and lunch in local restaurants.
Jane Haskins, prevention link worker at Guild Care, said: “As you get older, it is harder to make new friends, so we are delighted at the success of this project and hope lots of people will take advantage of this opportunity. There are a lot of lonely people out there, so if we can link them up, it will enable them to enjoy life again.”
If you would like to be part of one of the new Tea and Chat groups or are interested in one of the other groups, please call Luc or Jane on 01903 528627.
