A FORMER nurse who set up the local branch of Victim Support has died in hospital following a road traffic accident.

Joan Martin, of Beeches Avenue, Worthing, died on Wednesday, September 11, aged 80.

Joan was hit by a van on August 21 as she crossed the A27 near Lyons Farm, Worthing.

She fell and hit her head, suffering a fractured skull, two broken arms and internal injuries.
