A RESIDENT whose quick-thinking actions saved another man’s life has been recognised in an award scheme this month.

Mike Maskell, of Chapman Court, Worthing, won first prize in the ‘Be Inspired’ category in the Spirit of Housing 21 Awards after saving the life of court manager, Tommy Green.

When Mr Green suddenly collapsed of a heart attack at Chapman Court in July, Mr Maskell and two other residents administered CPR.

Together, they brought the manager back to consciousness three times while waiting for an ambulance to arrive.

The ‘Be Inspired’ award recognises those who have done undertaken a challenge over and above the norm, done something exceptional or achieved something challenging despite a disability or illness.

Mr Maskell was presented with a plaque at a recent residents’ conference in Bristol.
