Mary Saunders celebrated her 100th birthday along with four generations of her family.
A party was held on October 31, at The New Grange Dementia Care Home in Homefield Road, Worthing, where Mary now lives.
Mary has three children, six grandchildren, 13 grandchildren and a great, great grand-daughter. She also fostered two children in her earlier years.
On her big day, Mary was joined by daughter Lyn, who lives in Worthing, and her son Michael, who had travelled all the way from New South Wales, Australia.
Mayor Charles James presented and read out Mary’s cards from the Queen, Iain Duncan Smith, Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, and staff at The New Grange.
Mary responded to a toast in her honour by saying “thank you all for coming”.
