MEMBERS of the twinning association from Olonne sur Mer in The Vendee visited Worthing last month (April).
While here, they met with members from Worthing Twinning Association.
There were 34 members who came over to spend one week staying in Worthing – some with host families, others in the town’s hotels. During their stay they visited Brighton, Chichester and London. Worthing mayor Charles James also gave them a tour of the town hall and the mayor’s parlour, with which they were suitably impressed, as they do not having anything like this in Olonne sur Mer.
A representative from the group said: “The visit concluded with dinner at The Ardington Hotel, where our twinning association and the entente cordiale were reaffirmed - with a speech by the mayor in his school boy French to the great amusement of our French friends.”
