Helen Guise, 47, of Sandwich Road, Worthing, did the skydive in memory of 16-year-old Lucy Goulding who died in June last year of a brain tumour.

Helen said: “At 10,000 ft I asked if I could change my mind however due to wind and plane noise, the question went unheard from my jumping partner.

“I’m sure the experience, is enjoyed by many however it won’t be an experience repeated by me.”

She added she would like to thank all the sponsors for their emotional and monetary support – she raised more than £1,500.

Helen was nominated for the BBC Surrey and Sussex Community Award for Courage by Lucy’s mum, Antonella Goulding.
