An elderly woman was taken to hospital after being involved in a collision on the A280 Long Furlong at Findon.

Two cars, a blue MG and a red Volvo, collided on the road near Findon at around 5.20pm on Wednesday 26 August, police said.

A 73-year-old woman from Yapton, who was a passenger in the Volvo, was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

It is the second crash on the A280 Long Furlong in 24-hours after a 20-year-old man from Worthing died in a head-on collision.

Another man suffered minor injuries.

The stretch of road is currently the main diversion for the A27 as it remains closed at Shoreham following Saturday’s plane crash.
