BUDDING young film-makers and actors are getting ready for a screening at Worthing’s Dome Cinema.

On Sunday (July 15), 15 children from the STAR Academy of Performances will screen the various short films which they have filmed and starred in throughout the year, at the Dome in Marine Parade.

The school meets at East Worthing Community Centre on Saturdays and focuses on the techniques behind good and effective acting for the camera.

The academy, which was set up in 2005, offers classes in musical theatre and speech and drama and is run by professional actor Jason Heppenstall.

Jason said: “I am very proud of these classes, they are totally unique.

“The pupils that attend have so much enthusiasm that it makes for a really enjoyable class, so I can’t wait to see their faces when they see themselves on the big screen.”

The classes are for anyone aged eight to 15 with and with an interest in film-making/acting. Previous experience is not necessary.

For more information, contact Jason Heppenstall at info@staracademyofperformance.co.uk or 07881 920444.

Jason is also running a four-day summer film school, based at The Dome, from August 20-23.
