Walking by the sea is one of the modest pleasures and assets of Worthing. Walking behind ugly beach huts is not.
They are eyesores; little used, but permanently restricting sea views for promenade users and those living by the sea.
Worthing needs fewer, not more of them.
The law of supply and demand for those available is a better solution than further ugly obstructions on our seafront.
If more revenue is sought, rents for the existing huts should be increased.
Fifty-eight families on one side, 100,000-plus Worthing residents, plus visitors, on the other. The duty of our planning committee and councillors seems pretty clear to me.
