IF anyone was at the Assembly Hall, in Worthing, on Friday evening, they will know why I want to share the joy of singing.
It was a dreadful night for travelling, but the amount of people who came was wonderful.
This Benefit Night for Chestnut Tree House was attended by old and young dedicated to donate to this worthy cause.
The music was an added bonus, such joyful, happy voices.
Singers Rechoired put out an invitation to other choirs to join in this celebration of Christmas Songs, which was answered by the Sandgate Singers and Cantatrice, who travelled from Horsham and Steyning.
So, many thanks to them for braving the weather.
Some of the music was mesmerising – I found myself transported, dreaming, listening to the wonderful singing of three choirs.
At the finish, Margaret Peacock, musical director of Singers Rechoired, announced the amount raised in excess of £4,500, plus extras people were putting in the buckets at the exit; plus Singers Required were offering tickets for another benefit night on Saturday.
I would like to finish this by saying everyone was a winner, Chestnut Tree, the singers, and the listeners...wonderful.
