THERE are so many flaws in the fundamentally flawed West Durrington Development project, but one given scant mention is the failure of Worthing Borough Council to obligate the builders’ outfit to fund the construction of a GP surgery.
Yes, there is land designated for a potential medical centre, but the default use for that land is, wait for it, additional allotments! Imagine some 2,000 residents in the 700-plus dwellings with no GP surgery.
So, where will they go? Obviously not to the allotments, but clearly the Durrington Health Centre or the Strand Surgery.
My recent observation is that both these medical centres are already under very heavy pressure.
