I was pleased to read the report of the grand, official opening of the Sir Robert Woodard Academy’s new buildings (Herald, March 28).
Having been head to its predecessor school, Boundstone Community College, for 20 years, I still take a lively, if sometimes disappointed, interest in the progress of secondary education in Lancing and Sompting.
I shall certainly now have high hopes that, with the benefit of the £35million spent in recent years, the school will be able to move forward again to recapture the levels of artistic, sporting, community, social and all-round academic achievement of which we were all so proud.
I would like to wish students and their parents good luck for the future.
