ON Saturday, I watched one of our illustrious traffic wardens book a car in Queens Road.
It was a new 4x4 whose owner had bought a valid meter ticket but mistakenly parked in a residents bay. Not surprising, considering the erratic signing in Worthing.
The warden, however, ignored an old car parked on double yellow lines at the same time. This, I can only assume, is as a result of the way in which their performance is measured. The conversion ratio must be based on tickets issued against those paid.
It’s more likely that the owner of the newer car will pay the fine as opposed to the older “wreck”. I think it’s called selective punishment!
