It made my day!

It was market day.

I was doing my usual prowl, and popping in and out of the charity shops hunting for toys and children’s books.

I spied a hand-push along lion for 40p with flat batteries. I took him to the stall selling batteries and other electrical replacements.

A very helpful guy took the lion, and after trying various batteries and other adjustments, handed it back fully-functional.

It probably took ten minutes of his time.

When I asked how much I owed, he smiled and shook his head – ‘on the house, no payment’.

He wouldn’t even accept a coffee/money for one.

It was bitterly cold standing there.

I will certainly be telling my friends of his kindness.

Whether or not the parents will appreciate the new, functional lion – flashing lights and jangling tune – waits to be seen! That guy really made my day.
