Jo’s retirement

On Sunday July 27 it was wonderful to see St Richards Church full with people for the farewell service of Deacon Jo Gavigan who is retiring after 11 years at St Richards Church.

After the service it was nice to be able to spend time talking with some of those who had attended and we heard of how Deacon Jo had touched the lives of many local people during her time at St Richards.

At one point in the service the audience were asked to call out characteristics that they loved about Deacon Jo.

The response was overwhelming and really showed just how much the local community will miss her after 11 years of service at St Richards Church

I’d like to take the opportunity to thank Deacon Jo for her service to our local community and wish her all the best for her retirement.
