I am writing in response to the letter published in the Herald on April 23 (letters) raising concerns regarding adult swimming at Splashpoint Leisure Centre.
In regards to our Sunday swimming sessions, the adult swim session on Sunday evenings has been in place for some time and reflects customer demand.
Our swimming programme is reviewed quarterly and customer usage is analysed carefully in order that a balanced programme is set.
We aim to meet the needs of the whole community.
Relating to general swimming and lane swimming sessions, numerous possibilities are displayed within our swimming timetable available by visiting wwww.southdownsleisure.co.uk
Seventy-one per cent of our programme timetable is for general swimming, which does reduce adult only sessions but meets the needs of the wider population.
It should also be noted that we provide a leisure pool which tends to keep young children away from the main pool allowing adults to swim free from children jumping in and splashing more serious swimmers.
In regards to our responding to complaints, we have a regulated management system with a policy whereby we get back to all customers within 10 days.
Our records do seem clear but if the customer concerned feels that their query was not answered, please contact us again and we will endeavour to provide you with further information.
Please be assured we do our very best to meet the needs of all the community, we are always looking for ways to improve services and customer satisfaction, and welcome all feedback to help us with the development of our programmes.
For more information about the wealth of other activities on offer, visit: www.southdownsleisure.co.uk or call Splashpoint Leisure Centre: 01903 905050.
