It is now clear that the ship '˜United' Kingdom will shortly set course for the unknown destination of Brexit, under a captain, who originally supported '˜remain', along with 48 per cent of passengers preferring to stay in European waters.

As the two-year voyage nears its end, the conditions of Brexit should become clear, with a 2019 General Election also on the horizon.

Would this be a suitable time for all passengers to be able to vote on whether or not to make an informed decision to re-enter?
