Life-saving charity

A BIG thank-you to Morrisons of Worthing for making it possible for Sussex Air Ambulance volunteers to hold collections for this very valuable and life saving charity.

A huge thank-you to the very generous public who helped raise the fantastic sum of £781.61 on Friday and Saturday, March 16 and 17.

The Sussex/Surrey Air Ambulance is based at Dunsfold Park, flying fast, direct and unhindered at over 150 miles per hour, the entire county can be reached in minutes.

However the challenge is to meet the yearly running costs of approximately £1.8million to provide Sussex and neighbouring Surrey with an emergency helicopter service, seven days a week, 365 days a year.

Receiving no funding from the government or national lottery the charity relies almost entirely upon the generosity of the public.

Local volunteers are holding a charity night event at Beecham’s Social Club on Saturday, at 7pm, and invite the public to support by purchasing tickets priced £5. There will be a silent auction and raffle held during the evening.

Once again, a big thank-you to the staff and customers at Morrisons and hope to see many of you at our local charity fun night. For further details or tickets, please ring Sue or Dave on 01903 522909.
