‘More cycle lanes needed’

On Sunday, I was knocked off my bicycle by the shops on the roundabout junction of the Boulevard and the Strand, Goring.

I would like to thank the many people who stopped to see if I was all right.

I do drive a car but try to cycle whenever I can, both to keep fit and help the environment.

Surely, those are two good reasons to cycle?

However, whenever I speak to motorists, the response is always the same: “Cyclists are a nuisance.”

Isn’t it about time we had decent cycle tracks to keep cyclists safe, then we would not be “a nuisance to motorists”?

On safer cycle tracks, more people may be encouraged to cycle which will keep them and the enviroment healthier.
