It was of no surprise to me, when reading in the Herald, the adverse comments of the majority of their readers, re: the proposed planning permission of Roffey Homes to build a 20-storey building on the site of the old Aquarena.
In my opinion, the views of these people will be ignored, just imagine the extra revenue in council tax these apartments will be fetching for Worthing Council.
Apart from this building standing out on its own, looking so out of place, has there been any consideration into the parking arrangements required for such a vast building ?
Possibly there will be more than one car to most apartments, and then there are visitors, especially at weekends, when family and friends go calling in. I can imagine there will not be nearly enough parking spaces available, so this problem will cause more disruption to neighbouring roads, already suffering their own parking nightmare. At present, there is a continuous stream of traffic on Brighton Road, this will just add more to a ever increasing volume of traffic in an out of Worthing town centre. Last but not least, Roffey Homes state these will be affordable homes, so I assume that means £500,000 upwards ?
