Pantomimes still going strong

With regard to Ernie Barnes’ letter last week, entitled “Oh, yes it is”.

He refers to the amateur pantomimes at the Pavilion, well they were put on by Durrington Theatrical Society.

They performed them for over 30 happy years until they lost their Christmas spot due to the decision to put on a Christmas circus.

They had to relocate first to Northbrook Theatre, and for the last 10 years have made their home at a more intimate venue at the Barn Theatre at Field Place.

They are performing their 54th pantomime in the town with “Camelot the Panto” in December, so they are still going strong “Oh, yes they are!”
