Time to look to park’s future

Have your say

A group of local residents formed the Homefield Park Action Group, in November, 2012, to raise the issues concerning the condition of the park and, with the support of the council, the name was changed to Action for Homefield to support the Heritage Lottery Fund bid.

Booklets setting out possible ideas were printed and have been delivered to residents, schools and businesses within a 15-minute walk of Homefield Park and consultations have been held at several places around town.

A Christmas Fayre was held in early December, at the Sidney Walter Centre, with games, Santa’s grotto and a raffle, to also gauge the support and consult with residents once more.

This was very successful and many showed an interest in the formation of a Friends of Homefield group.

This is now being formed to continue with this support and also develop community events with an overall aim of working to create a park that will best serve the various needs of all our community.

An AGM has been arranged at the Sidney Walter Centre on Monday, January 7, at 8pm, anyone who is interested to come along and find out more and hopefully sign up to become a member or even become a committee member.
