Trapped indoors

At last a transport managing director speaking sense – Chris Chatfield, of Compass Buses.

If there is £350,000 available for local council to spend it would most certainly would be better spent reinstating the evening and Sunday bus services.

The reduction of the number 7 bus has had a huge impact on the residents in north Sompting, with a bank holiday weekend, once again residents without transport were stuck indoors from Saturday until Tuesday.

I was told by a representative of Stagecoach that it would cost £100,000 to give us back our half hourly service.

Great, that will leave £250,000 to give other areas a decent bus service!

It’s about time our representatives stopped pontificating over things that on paper may look viable yet in practice can cause more mayhem.

Increasing bus services helps residents, brings more people into town which in turn means more revenue for shops and theatres.

A 20mph limit cannot be enforced by the police, so why on earth do they think it will work?
