Having read the letter and article in the Herald over the last two weeks regarding Spyglass, Marine Parade, I find it unbelievable that the council could not make a decision on the retrospective planning application.

All business people know if you make changes to a property you require planning!

After eight months this outlet has still got no planning permission for any changes.

It is not a matter of “it looks nice” or “discouraging local businesses” it is not in-line with planning guide lines that other businesses have to abide with.

If this pub is allowed to bend the rules then the guidelines for the council should be thrown away as everyone else can do the same.

This is a seafront property in a conservation area, the decision should be NO, the pub should comply with the rules like everyone else.
