LAST month, I went to the Worthing Youth Prom at the Assembly Hall, when two bands of children from West Sussex performed challenging music in a very expert way.
The West Sussex Youth Orchestra have played there for many years and regularly attract a good audience.
The West Sussex Youth Wind Band played for the first time in my memory and they performed the suite from the film Henry V by Walton very well indeed.
There were about 100 youngsters in each of the bands, and the concert is a real challenge for them, and a very important step in their musical career which would be impossible to replace.
I hope this might help you to win the campaign for retention of the Assembly Hall, with its superb acoustics, unrivalled for hundreds of miles around.
