What are we voting for?

In last week’s Herald, there was a letter from the police returning officer for Sussex urging readers to keep their ballot papers confidential for the forthcoming elections for a police and crime commissioner.

It would have been more informative if Mr. Harris had told readers what we are supposed to be voting for.

What is a police and crime commissioner and what will he, or she do?

There is only one certainty, when the successful applicant retires it will be with a huge pension. I will not vote for something I know nothing about.
