Let me assure your correspondent who has been delayed by the A27 roadworks on his journey to Worthing Hospital, I live just a few yards north of the Manor roundabout and plenty of the roadworks have been carried out overnight.
And on the subject of the roundabout, when did the left-hand lane going north up Grinstead Lane become a filter (racetrack) lane for cars going right round the roundabout onto the eastbound carriageway?
Surely that lane is for cars going left or straight ahead, not turning right. Anyone in the right lane going straight across (the Highway Code states when taking an exit to the right or going full circle, unless signs or markings indicate otherwise, signal right and approach in the right-hand lane) runs the serious risk of being run off the road by cars undertaking incorrectly in the left hand lane.
Quite a few drivers need to refresh their knowledge of the Highway Code.
