GCSE drama students in Durrington have celebrated being among the top 10 performers in the country.
Katie Garrett and Sophie Martin sat their GCSE drama exams at Durrington High School in the summer – and both got within the top 10 marks out of thousands of other students.

Head teacher Sue Marooney said: "We are delighted the work of Katie and Sophie has been recognised.

"Each year, more and more of our students are receiving recognition for their achievements, which is super for them as individuals and provides motivation for others in our school community.

"Katie and Sophie were committed, focused and dedicated for the entire two-year course and both showed excellent determination and imagination.

"The final performance pieces from both girls were inspiring and tackled challenging scripts and subjects."
