FORMER pupils of Our Lady of Sion School have been reunited.
Past pupils of the Gratwicke Road school attended a 40th anniversary reunion which saw members of the upper sixth form class of 1968 catching up and reminiscing.

More than 40 former pupils attended the reunion, which included people who had left the school between 25 and 58 years ago, as well as 11 of the 19 members of the class of 1968.

A 12th member, who lives in France, sent a bouquet of 40 roses, one for each year since they had all left the school.

Sister Elise Saudan, who was headmistress of the school in 1968, was also there, along with Sister Ann McNally – previously known as Sister Scholastica – who was teaching at Sion in 1968.

Jackie Flowers-Leek – Jackie Tenant-Flowers while she was at school – organised the reunion with Diana Thorne.

Jackie said: "It was an absolutely brilliant afternoon, and the turnout was fantastic.

"It was great that everyone came, and we really enjoyed singing the school song."
