CHILDREN at a Durrington school are getting musical from a young age.
The Laurels First School choir features 28 singers from years two and three and performs regularly, including a show at Covent Garden in London this year.

Head teacher of the Winterbourne Way school, Judith James, said: "We regard ourselves as a musical school. We're always singing here. We love it.

"The children in the choir really seem to enjoy it and it really helps them learn music, and also with their reading."

The choir's Christmas concert was so successful, a choir for children in year one is being started in the new year.

Judith said: "The children saw the older ones singing and wanted to do it, too. We hope it's going to be as big a success as the current choir."
