The group of girls, who are all studying travel and tourism at Northbrook College in West Durrington, were joined by their tutor Richard Lloyd for the walk on Thursday, April 24.

Despite the amusing theme, the walk from Brighton Pier to Worthing Pier was held for a serious cause.

It was student 18-year-old studen Hayley Everest's idea to raise money for the CdLS Foundation as her brother Darren, 21, suffers from the rare Cornelia de Lange syndrome.

She said: "We are hoping to have raised £1,000 for the charity so more research can be done into the syndrome."

Hayley and Darren live with their parents in Grinstead Lane, Lancing.

She said: "Darren has had CdLS since birth. He has severe learning difficulties, cannot read or write, walk or talk.

"He cannot do anything independently. But I adore him."

Darren joined the group as they completed the walk in three-and-a-half hours.

Hayley said: "We all really enjoyed the walk.

"Everyone who saw us was really supportive and after a few miles we forgot about how silly we looked."
