YOUNGSTERS took advantage of Shoreham's snow to build their very own igloo – with the help of parents and teachers.
Pupils built the igloo outside St Nicolas and St Mary's Primary School, in Eastern Avenue, Shoreham, after the town's heavy snow.
At break time, the children returned to the igloo to play, with the snow home holding about 10 pupils at a time.
St Nicolas and St Mary's head teacher David Etherton said: "When it snows, we open the gates a few minutes early so the children can come and enjoy the snow before it melts.
"Lots of mums and dads came in and helped make snowmen and the igloo.
"We rolled up little balls of snow and assembled it.
"It was a whole school, whole community team effort."
PenguinsAnd, as luck would have it, the snow tied in perfectly with a topic being covered by younger children at the school.
"Our reception, year-one and year-two children's topic is about cold places, polar bears and penguins," said Mr Etherton.
"It's fantastic that they have been able to expand their curriculum and make the most of the winter weather.
"I don't know whether it was them, the parents or the staff who had the most fun."
