THERE is a chance to watch more top-class county action at Arundel Castle this weekend.

Sussex County Cricket Club’s women’s side head to Arundel on Sunday in a top-of-the-table County Championship clash with Kent.

A number of top international players will be in action, with England stars Sarah Taylor and Georgie Elwiss in the Sussex team and England captain Charlotte Edwards and Lydia Greenway in the Kent side.

Other international players will also be in action for the 50-over-a-side game, which begins at 11am.

Sussex women’s director of cricket Charlotte Burton said: “This match is always hotly-contested.

“Both sides have been fighting for the championship for the last ten years, with Sussex winning the title six times, including last season.

“We are currently top of the table, having won all of our games so far.

“We have a strong, young side and are more determined than ever to retain the championship.

“We are looking forward to playing at Arundel for the first time and hope to come away with another win.”

Entry is free for the match.
