FINDON Cricket Club captain Bradley Bridson is hoping his side can continue to progress in the National Village Cup.
Bridson’s side entertain Ifield in the West Sussex area third round on Sunday (1pm).
Findon won by 76 runs in the previous round at Balcombe and Bridson, who hit 125 from just 72 balls in that win, said: “The aim for us is to reach the next round of the competition.
“We started off really well with a victory against Balcombe and we want to carry that on.
“We have played Ifield a number of times over the past few seasons as they are in the same league as us.
“I know what to expect from them and I’m hopeful that we can reach the next round of this competiton.”
The final of the tournament is played at Lord’s and Findon were runners-up at the home of cricket in 2007.
Bridson said: “What a fantastic carrot to dangle, with the incentive of a final at the home of cricket.
“We will just take it round by round but, who knows, if we can go on a run, anything can happen. It would be a dream to reach the final.”
Findon won by six wickets away to Lindfield on Saturday.
