SUSSEX County Cricket Club have announced their squad to travel to Dubai for their pre-season preparations next week.
The squad fly out to the UAE and will play initially in the Emirates Airlines Twenty20 2013 Tournament, attempting to defend the title they won last season, alongside Lancashire, the Fly Emirates XI and an MCC side including Rahul Dravid and Shaun Tait.
The tour’s primary objective though will be preparing the squad for four-day cricket with a programme of practise sessions planned, culminating in a two-day game against Lancashire. There will also be two 40-over matches, again against Lancashire, and also the MCC Young Cricketers.
Both Monty Panesar and Matt Prior will be missing from the preparations as they both continue their tour of New Zealand with England, whilst Luke Wright prepares to join up with the Pune Warriors in the Indian Premier League.
Ed Joyce and Matt Machan are both currently in the UAE with Ireland and Scotland respectively, and will join up with the Sussex squad when their international tours have ended.
Andrew Miller is currently on trial with the county and is also included in the squad.
The full squad is: Amjad Khan, James Anyon, Will Beer, Ben Brown, Joe Gatting, Rory Hamilton-Brown, Lewis Hatchett, Chris Jordan, Ed Joyce, Chris Liddle, Matt Machan, Steve Magoffin, Andrew Miller, Chris Nash, Michael Rippon, Luke Wells and Mike Yardy.
