SUSSEX Sharks are aiming to pile on the pressure at the top of the South Group in the Friends Life t20 as they travel to the Kia Oval this evening to take on neighbours Surrey.
The Sharks got off the mark for the new Twenty20 campaign on Sunday at Lord’s as they beat Middlesex Panthers.
Luke Wright’s fantastic 81 supported by Chris Nash (45) and Rory Hamilton-Brown (47), propelled Sussex to the first 200-plus score of this year’s tournament, before three wickets from Michael Yardy and incredible catches from Joe Gatting, Chris Jordan and Dwayne Smith helped the Sharks restrict the hosts to 178.
It will be a chance for a quick revenge against Surrey in tonight’s match, which starts at 6.30pm, following last Friday’s defeat, and they currently top the group after winning two of their three matches so far.
The Sussex squad remains unchanged with Matt Prior remaining with England as the squad prepare for The Ashes series.
The full squad is WAT Beer, BC Brown, JS Gatting, RJ Hamilton-Brown, LJ Hatchett, CJ Jordan, EC Joyce, CJ Liddle, MW Machan, CD Nash, DR Smith, SB Styris, LJ Wright and MH Yardy.
