He said: “Absolutely over the moon to captain this great club.
“I’ve been here since I was eight years old so it’s an absolute honour to be leading the lads out.
“With me being at the club since I was eight, I’ve got a real understanding about the values and ethos of this club.

Bridges had a good season in 2019, finishing third in the Premier Division of the Sussex Cricket League, but in the August Cup 2020 they had mixed results in a very disrupted season caused by the pandemic.
But Walker is hoping for more consistency this year with the team he will have at his disposal – hopefully including new overseas player Will O’Donnell.
Walker said: “We will look to really solidify our place in the Premier League and ultimately, look to win games of cricket for this club. We are hopeful of keeping the same side with the potential additions of a few others.

“With the latter being the leading run scorer in the Ford trophy competition for the Auckland Aces, we are looking forward to having Will over for the first time and to see what he can bring to this great group of lads.”
And what message will Walker give to his players?
“To firstly enjoy their cricket and go and express themselves.
“I feel players are at their best when they are enjoying the game.
“Also, to know they have my full support whatever happens, win, lose or draw.”
